Macmillan Cancer Support – Brave the Shave

Congratulations to Katherine Collins MSc, one of our Senior Cardiac Physiologists, who signed up for the Macmillan Cancer Support initiative “Brave the Shave” in memory of her father, and courageously shaved her head on Saturday 1st September.  Since 2015 Macmillan Cancer Support’s brave shavers have raised over £16.8 million to support people living with cancer. Thanks to this more people can receive practical, emotional and even personal support from the moment they are diagnosed, helping them to understand more about cancer and how it is treated.  The money raised helps to provide social care workers who ensure that patients and their family members and carers receive help to manage the social problems of living with cancer; nurses who provide essential medical, practical and emotional support; and information and support centres so that people living with cancer can receive support and advice face to face.
