InHealth supports Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

InHealth’s chosen charity for 2018/19 is Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.  CRY was set up in 1995 and works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD), supporting young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offering bereavement support to families affected by YSCD, the emotional impact of which cannot be underestimated.  Awareness of YSCD not only helps to identify those at risk, but also ensures correct clinical practice when treating a young person with an inherited cardiac condition.

CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes, funds medical research, publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public and funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.  InHealth is honoured to be able to support this worthy charity in its fundraising efforts which will help to identify those at risk and provide emotional support to those families who experience the sudden death of a young person.  Our objective is to raise £2,000 for CRY which aligns with our focus on making healthcare better for patients.
