InHealth puts Experience of Care Week into practice
InHealth’s Interventional Cardiac team held their 3rd annual away day this June, following the results received from our participation in this year’s Experience of Care Week in April – an international week of celebration offering healthcare organisations the chance to celebrate the work taking place across health and social care to keep improving experiences of care for patients, families, carers and staff. During the Experience of Care week the interventional cardiac team undertook a number of patient and staff surveys which asked the question “What Matters to you?” when receiving or delivering care so we can better understand our patient and staff expectations.
On the day the team took part in group exercises based on the outcomes from the Experiences of Care week, focussing specifically on those responses which provoked thought on actions required regarding patients with special needs; specifically, Dementia, visual and hearing impairment and learning disabilities. The away day proved invaluable in bringing together the entire team to put actions in place that will better the care we deliver to our patients. The feedback received from the EOC Week surveys will help us to better equip our front line staff with the tools and techniques required to deliver care to this vulnerable group of patients.
